Our sales of sheds in Perth show just how differernt seeimngly similar cities can be when you scratch a little deeper than the surface. Perth gets on average around 790mm of rain a year.... much less than Sydney but a bit more than Melbourne. I would have thought small garden shed would have been the big sellers in Perth, but in fact its garden sheds, and our large farm style sheds as well as double garages that sell well here. I'm putting it down to when and how the rain arrives, and the relatively hot weatherand low humidity of Perth. As a write this, Perth is the same balmy Autum temperature as Sydney... (22 degrees - though its 1pm in Sydney and 10am in Perth) but the humidity is 30% lower. the rain arrives in Perth from May to August.... so if you want lawn in summer in Perth? You need to irrigate. Perth has access to huge underground fresh water supplies, and makes good use of them.
Perhaps that's the reason for the larger sheds..... not only do Perth Sheds contain mowers, garden tools and the like, they also tend to contain irrigation and sprinkler equipment. Its either that, or there are an awful lot of teenagers who've moved into the backyard shed in Suburban Perth!
